Estimate energy requirements based on weight, age, activity level, and neutering status.
Note: Calculations follow standard clinical formulas defined by veterinary nutrition boards (NRC/FEDIAF).
Steps to follow:
- Open the **Tools** tab and tap **DER Calculator**.
- Pick the pet you want to calculate for. The app pulls their latest logged weight.
- Specify their physiological status (Intact, Neutered, Puppy, Active Working Dog, etc.) and daily activity level.
- The engine outputs the recommended daily kilocalories (kcal) and provides approximate feed weight translations.
Tip: For mixed feeding plans (dry kibble + wet cans), divide the kcal outputs according to your preferred ratio.
