Note: To edit a profile later, navigate to the pet's view, tap settings, make your edits page by page, and confirm.

Steps to follow:

  1. From the main dashboard, tap the Add Pet or New Companion button.
  2. Step 2 (Identity): Tap the profile camera placeholder to upload a picture via the iOS system photo picker (PhotosUI). Enter the Usage name, optional Full name, and choose gender via the segmented control.
  3. Step 3 (Category & Breed): Select the species (dog, cat, rabbit, etc.), tap the Breed field to select a breed, set the birth date via the native date picker, and adjust initial weight using the double wheel pickers.
  4. Step 4 (Details): Write allergies and intolerances, toggle administrative settings (Chipped with ID number, Tattooed, or LOF-registered), then tap Finish on the recap screen.
Tip: The built-in crop utility (ImageCropper) launches automatically after photo selection to help you center your pet's face.

Create a secure backup of all records or migrate information to a new iOS device using JSON.

Note: Warning: importing a backup file will overwrite all current local application data.

Steps to follow:

  1. Open the Home dashboard and tap the gear icon to open Settings.
  2. Scroll down to the Backup & Restore section.
  3. Tap the Export JSON Data button. The app compiles all profiles, weights, vaccines, and claims history.
  4. Choose a storage location (Files app, iCloud Drive, Email) or share it directly to another iPhone.
Tip: To restore, select Import JSON File and select your previously saved backup file.

Note: The configured shortcuts will automatically reflect on your iOS home screen widgets.

Steps to follow:

  1. Open Settings from the Home tab.
  2. Go to the Quick Actions or Customization menu.
  3. Tap on Configure Shortcuts.
  4. Select up to 4 shortcuts (e.g., Log Meal, Start Walk, Call Vet, Log Weight) and drag them to reorder.
Tip: You can rename each shortcut and assign a custom emoji in the personalization fields.

Note: Breed characteristics help the nutrition calculator determine accurate base energy targets.

Steps to follow:

  1. During pet creation or profile editing (Step 3), tap the Breed cell.
  2. A selection sheet will slide up, loaded from the local database breeds.json.
  3. Type the name of the breed in the search bar to filter.
  4. Tap a breed to automatically load average weight ranges, sizes, and specific health vigilance flags.
Tip: If your pet is a mixed breed, select Mixed Breed or pick the closest dominant breed to adjust references.

Change the visual style of the OmniaVet app icon on your iOS home screen.

Note: This action does not modify app features and can be reverted to default at any time.

Steps to follow:

  1. Open OmniaVet Settings.
  2. Under the **Display** section, tap **Application Icon**.
  3. Browse through alternative themes (Classic, Coral, Dark Mode, Dog, Cat).
  4. Select your preferred icon and confirm. iOS will prompt a dialog showing the updated icon.
Tip: Custom app icon alternatives are unlocked for OmniaVet Premium members.

Save contact info for your veterinarians, emergency clinics, groomers, and sitters to contact them in one tap.

Note: The address book is synchronized with iCloud to be available on all your iOS devices.

Steps to follow:

  1. In OmniaVet's main navigation menu, tap Address Book.
  2. Tap the + button in the top-right corner to add a new contact.
  3. Fill in the name, specialty, phone number, and physical address of the professional.
  4. The app automatically geolocates the address using Apple's CoreLocation framework (CLGeocoder) and pins it on the interactive map.
Tip: Pin your favorite contacts to make them appear at the top of the list and on your home screen.
